This bridge is a very photogenic structure over Hill Street in Baraboo.
The bridge was actually built at two times. The current westbound track was built in 1893, as a double track structure. These girders were built using four girders, instead of two, typical of 1890s girders.
In 1896, the bridge was expanded, and the eastbound mainline was added at this time. This span is a simple deck girder with two girders.
The bridge is supported by stone abutments. Overall, it appears to remain in good condition. It has local significance because although it is old, it is a common design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge can be accessed from the road it crosses.
